    Hi Jeremy,

I see, the information about the browsers is good to know. Thank you for all of the hard work you’ve put into PennController! I really appreciate all of your insightful and incredibly prompt replies 🙂

Alternatively, would the difference between the recorded and calculated audio file lengths be the file buffering, i.e I could add that time to the calculated reaction time (keypress timestamp – audio start timestamp) to get a more accurate reaction time?

    Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for the reply! It seems like calculating the reaction time by subtracting the audio start timestamp from the keypress timestamp may not be accurate, because any file buffering is of unknown length. Do you think it would be accurate to calculate reaction time from the opposite end, by subtracting the keypress timestamp from the audio end timestamp?

    Hi Jeremy,

Passing the group letter in the URL is a good idea, thank you for pointing it out. And I didn’t realize the PennController built-in grouping would work that way, so that’s good to know. Thanks again!

(Forgot to mention this in the original post, sorry!)

I also thought about modifying the input table such that each of the 4 experimental groups also contains all of the fillers (A: 20 items + 20 fillers, B: 20 items + 20 fillers, C: 20 items + 20 fillers, D: 20 items + 20 fillers), but I think this also relies on a lot of copy-paste.
