In a self-paced reading experiment, I have a long list of experimental items (N = 80) and present the sentences word by word. The index of critical word is different in almost each item such that it is, say 11th word in one, 13th in another and so on. So, I expect that it would be quite challenging for me to extract all RT data without having an “identifier”. Is there a way to mark the critical regions/words so that it can be practical during data analysis?
If you know where the critical word is in advance, just list its index in a column in your table (I am assuming you’re generating the trials using Template) and use .log on the closing parenthesis of newTrial() to report that value as an additional column in each results line of the corresponding trial. Then you can read that column from your results file during your analyses to apply the correct calculations
