Thank you, Jeremy! Some of them waited until the next trial started and they could hear the audio files. Some just gave up while waiting. It seems that the participants who experienced this issue were all from Hong Kong. So it’s probably the inaccessibility.
Thank you very much again!
I have encountered the problem you described in this reply: some of my participants saw the “Preloading, please wait” screen and was stuck there for a while before they could proceed. Before I published the experiment, I made sure to try and do all the groups once to make sure there wasn’t any technical issue. After getting reports from some participants, I checked the csv file and the zipped file to make sure the names in the csv file corresponded to the audio filenames.
Would this message trigger from the participants’ end?
Here is the experiment link.

Oh I did try rshuffle and I must have made some mistakes. It’s working now. Thank you so much, Jeremy!
Sorry, please ignore #1, it was simply an ordering issue.
Thank you very much, Jeremy!
Based on the codes you suggested, I am getting closer to what I wanted to do for my experiment: Basically I am trying to create a trial where the two gaps (gap-0 and gap-1) are embedded in a sentence, e.g. “This is ____ and _____.” There will be two draggable items where participants have to decide which item to put in which gap. I have tried various ways to modify the code but I can’t seem to solve the following issues:
1. I cannot make the instruction display on top of the page.
2. I cannot make the two canvases display horizontally. I have the same problem with the two draggable items.
3. Is there a way to present the two canvases in a way that they are embedded in the sentence above: “This is _(gap-0)_ and _(gap-1)_.”?
Thank you very much again for your help!
Oh it actually worked. It’s strange because when I was previewing the experiment, the loading time was very long and I couldn’t hear anything even after adding the command you suggested. But when I clicked the demo link, I could hear the audio.
Thank you so much Jeremy, really appreciated it 🙂
Thanks, Jeremy! I changed the settings to make my file publicly accessible, but the audio still doesn’t play here.
Thanks, Jeremy! I will relocate my audio files.
Thank you so much for your prompt reply, Jeremy!
I tried it on my iphone and ipad and neither worked. I used the code you suggested and I still wasn’t able to listen to the audio clip. I haven’t tried it on any android devices, though.
How do I share my project with you? Should I download the standalone version and send it to email@example.com?
Thanks, Jeremy! For each trial, after listening to the stimulus, they will have to choose an answer. The reason why I used the callback function is because they can listen to the stimulus again before they choose an answer. With the linear code, it seems that the stimulus could only be played once. And I want the screen to have just the “click” button. If I don’t use the remove function, the audio bar also appears.
Is there a way for me to get around this?
I don’t know how to edit my post but I meant to add that I flipped the order of the two commands and it’s still the same: ok on desktop or laptop but not ok on phone/ipad.
There are also instructions before and after the audio is played.
